Palak Chicken/Spinach Chicken

We went to a restaurant couple of weeks ago and I saw Palak Chicken on the menu. My Hubby ordered it and we loved the taste. That was the first time I ever heard about the recipe. I made palak paneer several times so I tried this and it turned out really good.

Preparation Time
: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Serves : 4

Ingredients:
Chicken: 750 gms
Spinach: 4 cup fresh leaves chopped
Onions : 2 medium chopped
Tomato: 1 large chopped
Green chilies: 2 chopped
Ginger garlic paste: 1 tbsp
Fresh cream: 2 tbsp

Spices:
Cumin coriander powder: 1 tbsp
Garam masala: 1 tsp
Red chili powder: 2 tsp
Turmeric: 1/2 tsp
Ground black pepper: 1 tsp

Method:

Boil water in a vessel, simmer the stove and chopped spinach leaves. Cook on medium-low for 5 minutes. Take out the spinach with a strainer and let it cool. Save the water to use in the curry.

Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a pan and add onions and sauté till translucent, add green chilies, ginger garlic paste and mix well. Sauté for 30 seconds. Add tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy. Turn off the stove and let them cool.

Blend the onion and tomato into a smooth paste.

Heat 2 tbsp of oil in that same pan and add the onion paste, add all the spices, mix well. Add chicken and toss well.

Blend the spinach into a smooth paste, add that to the chicken and mix well. Cook for 7-8 minutes. Add the spinach boiled water to the chicken, mix well and close lid. Cook for 15-17 minutes until the chicken is cooked and turn off the stove.
Add fresh cream before serving.
Serve hot with roti or naan.
